Women who run with the wolves...

Women who run with the wolves...
By Clarissa Pinkola Estes
I have just started this recently but wanted to share it. The first few pages grabbed me.
"A healthy woman is much like a wolf: robust, chock-full, strong life force, life-giving, territorially aware, inventive, loyal, roving. Yet, separation from the wildish nature (the author defines this word in its original sense, which means to live a natural life one where the creature has innate integrity and healthy boundaries) causes a woman's personality to become meagre, thin, ghostly, spectral. We are not meant to be puny with frail hair and inability to leap up, inability to chase, to birth, to create a life. When women's lives are in stasis, or filled with ennui, it is always time for the wildish woman to emerge; it is time for the creating function of the psyche to flood the delta."
Through stories we reconnect and remind ourselves of who we really are and who we want and need to be.
